oh, life is grand: I have FINALLY gotten this blog/picture thing down! I feel so elated... I figured it out all by myself! The trick: giving up on Sean's Mac. My trusty PC could actually use the Hello software, and viola, Frances can now post pictures.

expect LOTS of good pics from now on!

oooh, more good news: my ipod shuffle finally came! seriously, guys... just don't eat for a week or two, and use that $100 saved to buy one of these babies. They are fabulous... teeny tiny. It will match the chihuahua I'm going to buy soon PERFECTLY!

Spam and the end of an era

So Sean and I, in our desperate attempt to find something to eat from the drugstore down the street, settled on a can of Lite Spam for dinner. Now, the last time I ate spam was probably in 1995... no kidding. Mom used to make this wonderful stirfry with peanuts and spam... luscious. My innovation was not so amazing, but equally satisfying: grilled Spam burgers with colby jack cheese and chipolte mayonaise. Not half bad! It certainly beat the Lean Cuisine I was probably going to consume instead.

I also spent the past two evenings watching the final episodes of Sex in the City. The finale really got me thinking... it made me excited to see what the future holds for me, but it also made me miss all of my friends so far away. I am so grateful to know that I have people in my life who are as important to me as the four are to each other on that show. I know it's dumb to compare life to a TV show, but it's true: I have amazing friends. I can't be with them all of the time, but I know they will always be there for me. And soon, you will all be closer!!! I think this move is really the right thing for me... I can feel it. I had my taste of the big city, and I know I'll want more later, but for now, I'm ready to come back to something familiar, and real. Some place with parking!!! I can't wait!!!

Enough musings for one night. Now I am going to try and read... engage my mind a bit beyond Zelda and my DVD player.

I've finally learned how to put pictures up! However, for most of my Hawaii shots (since I have, ummm, over 300 to choose from), I am just going to post them on Sean's webspace in the near future. That way, you guys can all see them in one place, and I won't have to upload every single one!

My plans have been foiled. Photo posts will have to wait until I can speak to my technology advisor. Darn... I'm just going to have to go shopping instead! To all of my fans... the time has finally come to try and upload pictures! Now, just because I am engaged to a graphic designer does NOT mean that I have the slightest idea how to put pictures on a blog. But god knows I'm going to try!

Please be patient with me. I have tons of pics to put up, b/c Hawaii was so fabulous... how can I resist?! Might not finish them all today, but I'll keep you posted.

And for Elizabeth: PLEASE watch Napoleon Dynamite and you will understand why Tina needs to get some ham!

That's the sound of a sheep. Yes, I gave in and followed in your footsteps by making a blog, too. I will probably just use this to post pictures or random quotes. But who knows! Maybe I'll write funny and interesting entries and you will all check back frequently to read them.

But for now, I will leave you with the two highlights of my day:

1) I purchased cute new glasses with my vision insurance from work and saved $500!!! So it does pay off to be blind sometimes.

2) I ordered an i-shuffle!!! After harassing the poor employees at the SF Apple Store for over a week now, I decided that they really were NOT going to have any in soon, so I just ordered one online. If you haven't played with one yet, don't, because then you'll have to have one too.

I miss you all, dear friends who are far away. Ciao.
